Starcraft 2 – The Zerg Hydralisk Rush

First off, here is a great Starcraft 2 strategy that I often use that I am offering for free here. It does involve some skill, but if you are new to the game, you should be able to catch on. This particular strategy is pertinent to facing other zerg, terran, or protoss opponents. Also know that it will take an average player about twelve to fifteen minutes to complete this specific zerg hydralisk rush. It is exceptionally powerful in matches involving over two persons.

Stage 1: So let us begin with a build order. I will simply tell you what to build approximately and when, but you can have variations of it for your own zerg hydralisk rush. I like to build an overlord at nine and continue with drones until you have thirteen unit places. Then, build a spawning pool with the fourteenth drone and a vespene geyser with the next drone. Then, have three drones on the vespene. Make sure that you get enough overlords in there so that you can build more units.

Stage 2: You need a queen soon after the first vespene geyser is populated. Protect yourself with a few zerglings in case of a rush. After the queen is finished, you should have enough vespene and minerals for a lair. Quickly build this and while it is morphing you can either expand to a new location with a hatchery or just build a hatchery very near to the lair. Keep making sure that the queen is populating your bases with larvae. A queen per hatchery/lair is perfect. While the lair is forming, also make sure you have the other vespene geyser populated.

Stage 3: Right after the lair is finished, take a drone off the minerals and create a hydralisk den. Make sure you have larvae are ready to be spawned. You need to be quick here in order to overcome the opponent. Send an overseer down to scout the opponent while you upgrade your hydralisk’s grooved spines. While it is upgrading, begin spawning as many hydralisks as possible for the zerg hydralisk rush finale.

Stage 4: Mass the hydralisks into one area and make sure you have twenty or more. You can either upgrade their attack through an evolution chamber or just save those resources for more hydralisks. Once you think you have enough for a decent attack, send them in as one wave, but control the buildings and units they kill to be the most effective. Keep spawning more larvae with the queen in case you fail and need more hydralisks. Overcoming the opponent should not be a problem if you stay focused.

I hope this strategy gives you success on the battlefield!
